My Storm Vehicle.

Before coming to UNCA to take atmospheric science. I had a direct hit to my house by a high end EF3 tornado on April 13th, 2020, at 3:30a in Seneca, SC. That tornado went over my house, as I found out later by the next-door neighbor. By pure luck my house was spared by the tornado but seen a lot of destruction from it for the next two weeks afterwards. So, I decided to put together my own storm vehicle and started chasing tornadic storms to get a better understanding of why my place and seven other homes were spared. I have chased two EF2 tornadoes, two EF1 tornadoes and a EF0 Tornado since. I have a weather station mounted to the roof of my truck, GoPro Hero 9, made my own logo Storm Raider, GMRS radio and licensed to used it, that has built in NWS channel and on rear hood an emergency amber and white strobe light bar approved by a former SC State Patrol Officer. Before moving to Asheville, NC, my chase counties were Oconee, Pickens and Anderson in SC. In which, when the NWS issued severe storm either a watch or warnings, I would drop what I was doing and head for the storm. I'm certified both basic and advanced Skywarn.

In everyday driving, I have been pulled over by Pickens County of SC sheriff, Anderson County of SC sheriff and both Oconee County sheriff and Seneca Police of SC and even the Fire Dept of Seneca, SC asked when they were called to put out a grease fire at my place of employment, just to find out what's that weird thing on the roof of my vehicle is as well as all the weather decals. So, if you see this truck on the UNCA campus or around town, you'll know it's my truck.
