Tornado warnings July 28th in NC

Updated: 3 days ago

On July 28th at 6p EST the Mars Hill NC and Weaverville NC was under tornado warnings. The first tornado came down very close to Mars Hill, NC about 6:00pm. At 6:30pm it was Weaverville's turn. Two separate touchdowns and tornadoes. I didn't chase these two storms as I was cooking my supper at the time. The tornadoes didn't hit my location. They were moving SE, but did come within 10 miles of my location. I've included the storm reports I gathered that did receive damage. The jet stream dove sharply southward resulting this tornado event. Locally 60 mph winds caused widespread damage from Mars Hill,NC to Asheville,NC.

My lights flickered but remained on. A lot of lightning and ping-pong ball-sized hail was reported.
